AMTK F40PHR 380
Title:  AMTK F40PHR 380
Description:  Amtrak F40PHR 380 at Orlando, Florida on September 28, 1984, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Of interest to me was the wire in the upper left with the lumps on it. I thought it might be birds, but could not confirm that on close examination.

X2000 meet BUOI
Title:  X2000 meet BUOI
Description:  In photo that has "Erie" written all over it-note the space for the center siding, and the Erie "traffic light" signal in the distance, the X2000 meets BUOI just east of town. The only thing better would be a couple of EL SD45s-or maybe SD60s by this time-on the freight.

View from the road
Title:  View from the road
Description:  The chase road for most of my excursions close to home was NY 17C, which followed the tracks pretty closely from Binghamton to Waverly. We see the X2000 just east of Waverly, where the road is up on a hill. Its a good view, and theres even a semaphore.

F 40 and a blade
Title:  F 40 and a blade
Description:  One of the more unlikely juxtapositions on the Tier, the X2000 trains F 40s pass a classic Erie semaphore in downtown Waverly. I'm standing on the site of the Erie station, demolished in a 1967 wreck.

Not a station stop
Title:  Not a station stop
Description:  But it would be cool if it were. The only thing is, the train would be at the ex DLW station on the adjacent line, and not likely at the old Erie freighthouse. Ironically, Im standing on the site of the Erie passenger station, which was razed shortly after Conrail startup in 1976. The X2000 train passes on its way to Elmira, looking like an Empire Service Southern Tier train, if there was such a thing.
