The locomotive was built as IC TR2A 9207A in December 1949 and was subsequently renumbered 1029A, before being remanufactured into the 1453 in 1981. (month approximate) |

Description: |
The day after Southern Pacific (Texas & New Orleans) 2-8-2 745 was removed from Audubon Park in New Orleans, it was being pushed to its new home a few miles away by Illinois Central Gulf SW14 1453. Leake Avenue was in the foreground, while the Mississippi River levee was on the other side of the railroad tracks. The 745 had been on display in Audubon Park since 1956. |
