Description: |
BWCX. Here is an original 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Berwind Corporation's Car Shops in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 20 April 1987. Shown here is their GS-4 diesel-electric engine that was purchased from the Pennsylvania Railroad during 1964. Originally numbered "9328," it was built by General Electric in June of 1948 and rated at 380 horsepower. In this context, it, too, has been "put out to pasture." A not-so-bald "Bald Hill" dominates the distance. |
