PRR 1187, H-3E, 1939
WB. Here is an image of an official photo that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 19 October 1939. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1187, an H-3E (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built in the Altoona Machine Shops during January of 1888 and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. In this context, perhaps it's been prepared for display at the New York World's Fair. William E. Burket Collection.
