ALV. Here is a photo from Robert L. Emerson's 1984 book entitled "Allegheny Passage: An Illustrated History Of Blair County," page 48. Photo Caption: "In 1893, the Altoona & Logan Valley Railway extended its line to Hollidaysburg, six miles away, and the first car arrived there on June 14. The line stopped on the hill on Allegheny Street, and at least one car with bad brakes ended up in the Juniata River. Photo courtesy of Rita Black." Ms. Susan Wilt Gillette also notes that "This accident happened at 1:45 p.m. on Monday, 19 September 1904. The car was No. 101. One person was killed, four others were injured."
