Gulf Mobile & Ohio train No. 33 was flying extra flags as it was about to enter the main line of the Southern Railway at Slidell, Louisiana. GM&O trains heading in to or out of New Orleans operated over 28 miles of the Southern, between Slidell and Oliver Junction in New Orleans. This train was powered by a typical set of second-generation power: GP35’s 603, 633 and 602. (approximate date of photo) |
