Southern Pacific (Texas & New Orleans) P-5 class 4-6-2 607 had been built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in June 1912 as the 609 and was renumbered in 1923. The locomotive was parked at the railroad’s ALGIERS SHOPS, across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, and would never run again. It was sold for scrap here eight months later, on 3 June 1952. |
