Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in St. Louis, Missouri, on 5 December 1960. Prominent here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5889, #5705, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #5889 and #5705 are EP-22's rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5889 was constructed in April of 1950, while #5705 was built in September of 1952. Looks to me like they're departing the Station with a passenger train destined for Pittsburgh and points East. ("LouisFols"; #25 of 37) |
