Although poor quality, the photo taken by an unknown photographer captures Boston & Maine 2-8-4 #4018 heading up a fast moving freight train. The Coffin feedwater heater wrapping around the front earned the class the nickname of "cobra-hooded" locos. This loco along with 6 other class members was sold to ATSF in 1945 and was renumbered 4199. The location and date were not specified so approximates were used. |
