Illinois Central E9A 4040 and a mate were at the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal engine facilities. Louisville & Nashville FP7 657 was parked ahead of the IC units, while an unidentified Texas & Pacific E8A was on the other side. The 4040 was one of the newest E-units on the IC, having been built in February 1957 using E7A 4010 as trade-in credit. |
