| The lone tunnel on R.J. Corman's Memphis Line is this one at Palmyra, Tennessee. The tunnel carries the Memphis Line under the bluff that overlooks the Cumberland River. The L & N lowered the floor of the tunnel in the early 1960's to allow passage of auto racks. They had considered daylighting the bore, but were unable to do so due to a cemetery being located on top of the hill. |
