PC 18216         
A former Penn Central transfer caboose sits among a collection of historic railroad equipment along the Buffalo Southern mainline through Hamburg. This caboose is used as part of a tourist railroad that recently began operations over this former ERIE line.

Tom Beckett General These transfer cabooses were known on some roads, and perhaps PC as well, as "an outhouse on a raft" for their small cabins sitting on a long frame. UP still has a few ex MP cars of this design kicking around in Oklahoma, used as shoving platforms. One is at the industrial park in Pryor on the ex MKT. Another interesting item is the car coupled to the caboose, an ex LIRR P 54 "ping pong." 10/23/2017 4:19:41 AM
