| Illinois Central (Gulf) 8903 was one of 14 IC GP7 units built for passenger service in 1952-53. By the time this photo was taken at North Baton Rouge Yard its stem generator and water tanks has been removed, but it still had its hood-mounted air reservoirs. The locomotive was rebuilt as ICG GP10 7918 the year after this photo was taken, and it was sold to the Arkansas Midland in January 1992. |
