ARR 4-8-2 #801 - Alaska RR  Contributor's Pick!       
Nice builder's photo with a hole punch damage near the pilot. Built by Baldwin in May of 1932 in Philadelphia for the Alaska RR, it was dismantled and shipped to Anchorage where they reassembled it in their shops. Another identical loco was ordered ten years later (#802). It was wrecked twice, once in 1942 and once in 1950. Specs - class 801, 63" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight 273,300 lb, tractive effort of 43,099 lb.
