| 24th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 11 October 1963. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2413 and #7255. #2413 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. #7255 is an EFS-17M built by EMD in 1959 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. They are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge with a 108-car mixed-cargo freight train on their way through Altoona to the Enola Yards. The caboose is #477777. |
