Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5865 and two more units whose road numbers are not visible. All are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5865 was constructed in February of 1948. They've just crossed the Allegheny Mountains from Pittsburgh with a passenger train and will very shortly stop at the Altoona Passenger Station en route to Harrisburg. (#11 of 44) |
