| Conrail used many of the ex PC SW1500s for local!and yard jobs in the New York area. We see one here at Oak Point in company of a much more unusual unit, though a regular visitor to the city. Selkirk was home base to much of CRs GE fleet including the four U36Bs. They were a common sight on SELI/LISE and its occasional modification, SEOP/OPSE, the connection to the Long Island at Fresh Pond. U36B 2974 is on hand today, and will return to Selkirk later in the evening. |
