Seventy-two-seat coach 7251 was built by Pullman-Standard in 1948 as New Haven 36-seat parlor car 308 STAMFORD. It was on of 25 Plan W6788 cars (300-324) in Lot No. W46611. Ten of the cars were remodeled into 72-seat coaches 7200-7209 in 1964, losing their names, and were subsequently Penn Central 3190-3199. The 3191 was wrecked in 1971, but the other nine cars became Amtrak 7251-7259. The 7251 was previously PC 3191 and NH 7201. (approximate month) |
