PNC SD18m 1819
Precision National SD18m 1819 on the BN at Clyde, Illinois, March 1980, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Built in February 1960 as Southern SD24 6319 (c/n 25668) on EMD Order 5606, it was acquired by PNC in 1978 and put into a lease fleet as PNC 6319, still in Southern paint. During 1979 it was sent to Morrison Knudsen and rebuilt into a SD18m and renumbered 1819. It returned without a turbocharger and the dynamic brakes disabled, with the resistor grids blanked over. It was leased for about a year to the BN, and later became C&NW 6632.
