Northern Pacific Bridge Number 9
Here is Northern Pacific Bridge Number 9, as viewed from the bike path on the north side of the double-deck Washington Avenue bridge. The sign on the left says "North Coast Limited", a proud reminder of a glorious train on which you could enjoy delights such as the stop to wash windows at Livingston, Montana, and that delectable "great big baked potato". On a more sober note, in the left foreground on the "Bohemian Flats" side of the river are beams salvaged from the site of the 35W bridge, just around the river bend past the 10th Avenue bridge, where the crane is. On a more positive note, this span is included on the Twin City Model Railroad Museum layout. Their website is http://www.tcmrm.org/
