| Burlington Northern Railroad E9Am 9916 at the south end of the coach yard in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in October 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built December 1955 (c/n 20535) as CB&Q E9 9986A. It became BN 9986 on March 2, 1970, was sold to the West Suburban Mass Transit District (WSMTD) on August 18, 1972, was rebuilt by Morrison Knudsen in August 1973, returning as 9916 and leased to the BN for operation and maintenance. It was retired October 1992, eventually becoming CN 103. |
