KCS 1908
Loco 3 of 3, possibly the Fort Smith Dodger, is stopped on a public grade crossing, while switching the OK Feeds facility, awaiting a new crew. This loco is aparently setup to be ran by remote control and also looks to be recently renumbered.

This locomotive is currently middle-power for the KCS train that runs from Hattiesburg to Gulfport, MS. I am curious as to what the yellow flashing lights on the cab are for?

I do believe this unit is setup for remote control operation. Although it was not in remote mode at the time as none of the strobes were lit. The strobes on all of UP's remote yard units tell the operator or anyone on the ground that it is in remote mode and that no one may be in the cab. I do believe that is the case here on this unit. The crew was being changed out at the time the picture was taken and they were at the KCS office to the right of the picture and I didn't want to hang around being they might be suspicious and call the local authorities. There is a UP yard not to far from where this picture was taken. But at this time, there are no remote control enabled units in the yard, but alot of action to see (mainly unit coal trains). This train was at the time switching out the local feed mill here and comes from Heavener, Oklahoma.
