Seneca Foods siding built 2007.
Original plant siding ran along road between plant and UP mainline. Some time ago this siding was removed back to bridge where photo was taken. In summer of 2007 a new siding was constructed into the Seneca plant using concrete ties and heavy rail. The curve is such that Union Pacific locomotives would have difficulties so Seneca acquired a TrackMobile. As a note of interest the UP railroad station used to stand just left of UP tracks this side of the railroad crossing. You can see part of the old foundation.

Maddie Farnsworth General Why would they put concrete ties into an industry siding? Seems like over kill to me. 3/4/2008 11:26:38 PM
