This Illinois & Midland RR caboose #273 is displayed in the Al Berryman Memorial Park in Kokomo, IN. It has been painted in the parent company Genesee & Wyoming orange paint scheme. The paint is definitely showing some age but still adds a nice touch next to the former Lake Erie & Western/Nickel Plate Road right of way next to the park. |

They are the directional indicator lights while the car is in remote control service. Would definitely be handy to the controller and ground crews to know where this car is heading! As Brent Dickerson explained in a comment on another photo, this double beam would be used as the headlight when the caboose was in the lead while in remote control operation. |
