Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad Class XM-4B 49176 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in July 1981, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This car was stenciled: WHEN EMPTY RETURN TO AGENT CB&Q RR W. CHICAGO, ILL. The following is from the book, CB&Q Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment, by Michael J. Spoor: CB&Q #'s 49000 - 49399 were built at Havelock ( CB&Q Shops in Nebraska ) in 1966 to the same specifications as the Class XM-4 ( boxcars #'s 47500 - 47799 ) constructed in 1963. Classified as XM-4B the majority of these cars were free runners. Also seen is CB&Q Class XML-5 23202.
