Description:  It's Super Bowl Sunday 1986 at the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal engine terminal, and special trains have added even more variety to the collection of locomotives here. From right to left are F40 380 (coupled to the 261), NOUPT SW8 No. 1 (coupled to P30CH 701), Seaboard System FP7A 118 and F3A 116, P30 720, SDP40F 631 and E9A 468. The last two locomotives had been stored here for some time. Beyond these are red-and-yellow Southern Pacific SDP45's 3201 and 3207, and even more P30's and F40's.

Description:  Surrounded by Amtrak P30CH's and a Goodyear blimp, Seaboard System F3A 116 and FP7 118 enjoy the January sunshine at the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal engine terminal. The two F-units had come in on a special train for Super Bowl XX, which was taking place right behind the locomotives in the Louisiana Superdome. Mike Ditka's Chicago BEARS beat the New England PATRIOTS 46-10.

Description:  What a surprise!!! F Units on a Train coming by Central Jct. Savannah, Georgia We were completely surprised as there was no talk on the Scanner about them...suddenly there they were!!! It is Summer 1986 and they are still wearing SBD Paint, but CSX has become "official" and indeed you WILL see CSX on the side of Boxcars, Hopper Cars, Flat Cars, and Locomotives!!! By September, these will be wearing the new CSX Paint scheme. WE consider trying to chase this Train, but it was a Pig Train, and there are numerous Traffic Lights in the area, so this had to be our only shot.

Description:  When I was 8, CSX decided to abandon the line from Clearwater all the way North to Trilby. A farewell trip was run the last day from Tarpon Springs to Clearwater and back. Dad and I were on hand to take pictures and watch history a bit further down the line in Dunedin.
