Description:  Here is the second of two original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken at the Pennsylvania Railroad's East Altoona Roundhouse in the Juniata section of Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. Shown here is engine #6945, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during November of 1926 and retired in February of 1956 after 30 years of faithful service. In this context, it's waiting to be moved into the Roundhouse for turn-around servicing.
