This photo was taken in the storage yard at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Erecting & Machine Shop. Shown here are the firebox, ash pan, and trailing truck assemblies on the Fireman's side of PRR engine #6959, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during December of 1926 and retired in December of 1955 after 29 years of faithful service. |
