Beautiful, solid and powerful was this Baldwin 4-8-2 Mountain type steam locomotive built as SLSF #1505 in March of 1923 ( serial #56269, class T-54). The T-54s were found to be well liked by engine crews, dispatchers, and the motive power department. As they were true general-purpose locomotives, they were well suited for use in hotshot freight service, fast passenger service, or even local runs .
