Title:  NKP 2-8-4 #705, Nickel Plate Road (New York, Chicago & St. Louis RR)
Description:  This is one of the first Alco Schenectady built Berkshires for the Nickel Plate that spawned eventually a large group. Delivered in September of 1934 as one of the class 5 Berkshires, it had 69" drivers developed a powerful 245 psi boiler pressure. After serving for nearly 23 years, it was sold for scrap in August of 1957 to Luntz Iron & Steel Co. Unfortunately the location and date of this photo is unknown.

Description:  As an example of the 2nd class of Berkshires produced by the Lima Locomotive Works, #741 possesses all of the powerful look and abilities of its previous sisters. 69" drivers and 245 psi standard boiler pressure on these like the other Berkshires. #741 met its end when it was sold for scrap on 2/7/62 to Luria Brosl Co. It had the customary 69" drivers and developed a boiler pressure of 245 psi for solid power. It ended its days by being sold for scrap on 8/7/63 to Luntz Iron & Steel. This is a Forrest Trittenbaach photo. No date or location were given for this photo.
