Mid-train Helpers
Title:  Mid-train Helpers
Description:  Three SD40-2s cut in mid-train help a westbound grain train as it approaches Meacham. In the 1980s UP ran their grain trains with 2 sets of manned helpers. They were added at La Grande or Hilgard and usually taken off at Gibbon or Milam. In the 90s they would cut the trains in half to go over the Blues and use three units on the point and 2 manned helpers on the rear of each section.
