Signal Bridge at Carmi
Title:  Signal Bridge at Carmi
Description:  At one time the L&N and NYC ran through Carmi, Illinois with this structure carrying the signals that guarded the junction where the Dixie Line headed for Evansville IN and the Central's "Egyptian" line continued north to Danville IL. NS took over the former NYC portion from Conrail in 1982 and operated it through 1988. The structure serves no real purpose now, there is only one set of tracks and it's operated as 'dark territory' by Evansqille Western.

KCS Slug 402
Title:  KCS Slug 402
Description:  KCS yard slug 402 uncoupled at EStL. The cast, Baldwin-style frame details strongly suggests this is the former KCS 4080, delivered from MAC in 1982 using CNW slug BU-18 as its core, although MAC apparently changed everything from the frame up during the process. CNW had rebuilt it from DS4-4-1000 1075, the former CGW 39, in 1974.
