Description: |
The WSOR passes directly behind the visiting team bleachers at Ingalls Field in Ripon, WI. This train has just crossed East Fond du Lac Street heading compass direction south on it's return trip to Horicon from Oshkosh. It will pass behind Ripon's high school within a quarter mile and be out of town soon after. This train was quite a bit longer than the Memorial Day 2014 train at right around twenty cars, plus or minus a couple. |

Description: |
An example of one of my favorite locomotive models finds a home on the WSOR. The unit waits at Boscobel on the main, and cars to the units front sit on the sidings. The arrangement between the unit and the cars effectively blocks the line which continues on to Prairie du Chien on the original Milwaukee and Mississippi (Milwaukee Road) line across Wisconsin. |

Four covered hoppers set on a siding just north of Fenton St. in Ripon in the area that was once the center of the Milwaukee Road presence in town. The depot was located on the green space left of the turnout marker. Where the cars are spotted, they are often loaded via an auger conveyor by truck. Spilled corn along here indicates that perhaps that is what is being trans-loaded. |

The depot was located in a position that would have appeared between the cars and the grade crossing signals, which would be between Fenton S.. and East Fond du Lac St.To the right of the cars there was a nice sized elevator for grain. There was also a fair amount of other sidings and business served by rail here in years past. |

Two bay covered hoppers, used for hauling fracturing sand, await on the back side of a granite formation. The Badger mining Fairwater quarry ships a large quantity of sand. There have also been sightings of box cars spotted at the quarry. Whether they came there loaded or picke up loads there, is unknown to me. A pair of box cars are on the right hand side of the cut of cars, though they could be waiting to go to Del Monte in Markesan. |
